You (or someone acting with your authority, such as your Solicitor or Insurer) must provide us with your personal data if you wish to receive services from us.
What type of information we have
We currently collect and process the following information:

Financial Information, including banking details, employment information and DSS benefits information;

Medical Information, including medical records and medical reports.
How we get the information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you or your Solicitors and/or Insurers. We may receive personal data from the following sources:

HM Courts and Tribunals Service;

Other Government offices and agencies;

Insurers, solicitors and barristers;

Other organisations and individuals connected with the progress of a matter.
What we do with the information we have
We process personal data for these purposes:

Progressing your matter in accordance with the instructions given to us by you (and/or your Solicitor or Insurer, as appropriate). We may share this information with your Solicitor or Insurer as necessary;

Responding to enquiries;

Marketing our services.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us by email. Our contact details are at the top of this page; and/or
(b) We have a legitimate reason to process personal data for the purposes that we have identified.
How we store your information
Your information is encrypted and securely stored on a cloud-based server The location of this data is secured with password protection.

Information transfer is done by encrypted email;

Emails are password protected; Passwords are sent via a separate encrypted email;

Client and case details and logs are stored on a secure server;

Case documents are password protected.
We keep case files for 12 calendar months after we have completed our work on your matter. We will then dispose of your information by deleting and erasing the file from our system, using specialised software tools to (a) wipe all hard drive free space and/or (b) ‘shred’ the file, overwriting all of the file’s data so that it is impossible to recover. Any hard copy papers or documents will be treated as 'confidential waste' and physically destroyed. However, we may keep suitably anonymised records of your case for tax and audit purposes.
Transfers of personal data to any third countries or international organisations
Personal data may be stored on cloud-based servers in other countries. We only use cloud-based services in the European Union that comply with UK data protection law.
Our mailing list may be stored on a cloud-based server outside the European Union.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to the restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
